With the approach of the joyous holiday of Purim, the Jacksonville Jewish community is in for a treat once again. Chabad is gearing up for another production of its Annual Purim Gala to take place on Sunday, March 20- 4:00 pm at Chabad’s Mandarin/Headquarter location, 10129 Haley Road.

The event, now in its 19th year, has become a hallmark of Jewish joy and solidarity.  "This celebration brings Jews of all ages and backgrounds together with the single purpose of sharing the joy and warmth of our common Jewish heritage," says Rabbi Nochum Kurinsky, Director Chabad at the Beaches.

In addition to the lively music, exquisite cuisine, and joyous Purim spirit, for which the annual event has become popular, this year’s celebration will feature Yehudah Piamenta, Renowned Chassidic Musician.

"Born to a musical family, Yehudah is the son of renowned flutist Avi Piamenta. Raised in Israel, he made his first stage appearance at the tender age of six and it was only a matter of time before Yehudah started acquiring a musical style of his own. Yehudah's dedication and passion for music has brought new life to the world of Jewish music.

He has propelled traditional Jewish music into the 21st century and given it the exposure it deserves.

This year’s Purim event will feature delectable Italian Cuisine that will have you coming back for seconds.

The festival is sponsored by Chabad of Northeast Florida, Mandarin, the Beaches, Southside and S. Augustine.

Tickets may be purchased in advance from your local Chabad Center. Cost of the tickets are: $36 per adult and $18 per Child or Student.

You may also help sponsor the event. Your donation of $180, $260, $360, $500, or $1,000, is most appreciated.

A Megillah Reading will take place at 3:00 pm, preceding the event.
