 Chabad’s 18th Annual Purim Gala and Benefit
With Comedian Joel Chasnoff

With the approach of the joyous holiday of Purim, the Jacksonville Jewish community is in for a treat once again. Chabad is gearing up for another production of its Annual Purim Gala to take place on Sunday, February 28- 4:00 pm at Chabad’s Mandarin location, 10129 Haley Road.

 

The event, now in its 18th year, has become a hallmark of Jewish joy and solidarity.  "This celebration brings Jews of all ages and backgrounds together with the single purpose of sharing the joy and warmth of our common Jewish heritage," says Rabbi Nochum Kurinsky, Director Chabad at the Beaches. chassnoff.jpgIn addition to the lively music, exquisite cuisine, and joyous Purim spirit, for which the annual event has become popular, this year’s celebration will feature comedian Joel Chasnoff.

Joel has performed around the globe at some of the world’s premier comedy venues: the Montreal Comedy Festival, a USO Comedy Tour of Japan and Korea entertaining American troops and hundreds of college and club dates nationwide. On tour Joel has opened for such top-name acts as Jon Stewart and Lewis Black of The Daily Show and Gilbert Gottfried (Aladdin).Launching his successful comedy career after serving in the IDF, Joel is a favorite in the world of Jewish comedy, Joel’s innovative experience-based, positive Jewish humor has garnered him a cult-like following among the People of the Book and widespread recognition in the Jewish press.

"This is one funny dude," notes Rabbi Shmuli Novack, Director of Chabad of Southside. "It is really amazing, seventeen years Chabad puts on this incredible event and yet every year it seems to get better!"

 This year’s Purim event will feature delectable Chinese Cuisine that will have you coming back for seconds.

The festival is sponsored by Chabad of Northeast Florida, Mandarin, the Beaches, Southside and S. Augustine.

Tickets may be purchased in advance from your local Chabad Center. Cost of the tickets are: $36 per adult and $18 per Child or Student.

You may also help sponsor the event. Your donation of $180, $260, $360, $500, or $1,000, is most appreciated.

A Megillah Reading will take place at 3:00 pm, preceding the event.
