In 2006, Rabbi Shmuli and Chana Novack moved to Jacksonville to Serve the Jewish Community.

That same year, Chabad of Jacksonville Town Center, originally known as Chabad of Southside, opened its doors, establishing itself as a vital hub for Jewish life in Jacksonville.

Early Beginnings

The early days saw gatherings held in rented meeting rooms and local libraries. In 2008, Chabad broke ground on our first facility, and by 2009, we had a permanent home, allowing us to expand our services and outreach.

Growth and Expansion

As the community continued to grow, so did the need for a larger space. In 2016, Chabad embarked on a new building project, culminating in the opening of our beautiful, larger facility in 2019. Our new center now serves as a vibrant hub for our numerous activities and programs, enhancing the Jewish experience for all who visit.

Our Vibrant Community

Located by the St. Johns Town Center, Northeast Florida's shopping and entertainment hub and one of Jacksonville's most dynamic areas, Chabad of Jacksonville Town Center is dedicated to addressing the needs of this lively community. The Chabad center serves as a gathering place for Jewish life in Jacksonville, offering opportunities for learning, community involvement, hospitality, and cultural engagement for people of all ages and backgrounds.
